Thank you for stopping by and please subscribe! Let me tell you a little about me. For as long as I can remember I loved decorating, rearranging, and designing. As a young girl I would draw my bedroom in 2D but change the color of the walls or draw different drapes. I loved playing with different aspects of a room and then seeing it come together on paper and now in real life. I also was the queen of rearranging my parents house, whether it be my bedroom or their living room. My mom would come home from work to see that the couch was now on a different wall and the T.V. had been moved across the room. Guilty as charged, when I get the idea in my head I had to see it come to life.

When it came time for college, an Interior Design program was what I had my heart set on. Design school is really hard to get in to and I was wait listed on one of the top design schools in RI. So what does one do in the meantime, she goes to school to study Psychology…and minor in art of course. Four years later and I had my BA in Psychology with a minor in mental health. Interior Design positions don’t require a degree in Psychology, but I will tell you, that background does help.

Fast forward 5 years, I was living on my own in a tiny apartment and working full time at a job I knew didn’t have a huge future in. I enrolled myself in a program for a Certificate in Interior Design at a local community college. If I was going to do it, now was the time. After graduating and switching full time jobs to a completely different industry, I finally landed a part time dream job with a design firm called Emily’s Interiors. Thanks to one of my design school friends who introduced me to this company! Turns out, this was all I needed to reignite the design flame inside of me and I was right back to being inspired, motivated and wanting to create all the beautiful spaces.

Sometimes all a room needs is a new throw pillow, different curtains, maybe a fresh coat of paint with a patterned rug. Changing out the elements of a room inspires me and gives the space a new vibe. It makes me happy to make your home feel happy. I love to help you see the potential a room has. While some have a hard time picking out accessories for a room or envisioning how a certain color would look on walls, I find it exciting and motivating. I want your home to feel as good as you do in it I hope you love what you do as much as I do!

xoxo Lexi
